A Pool Sharp build seen from above — the deck, coping, and material details laid out across the lot.
The Studio · No. 01

Beyond code. Every build.

Michael Shelton has spent 15+ years in the pool industry — more than a decade of it right here in Austin and the Hill Country — and carries the CBP Certified Pool & Spa Building credential. Jeb Eubank leads design, listening first and drawing the layout around how you actually live outside.

That's the whole pitch: a small, accountable team that builds past the minimum. Extra waterproofing membranes. Cleaner estimates with real options. The same two people from the first walk-through to pool school.

"We build to standards beyond code — the details you'll never see are the ones that last." Michael Shelton & Jeb Eubank · Pool Sharp

Recent Work · 01–09

Hill Country backyards, finished.

Real Pool Sharp projects across Dripping Springs and greater Austin — new builds and full remodels alike. Every photo here is a job we built and shot ourselves.

What We Do · 01–06

Six things we do best.

New construction and remodels under one roof. Whether you're starting from bare dirt or rescuing a tired 90s pool, it's the same team and the same standard.

01

Custom New Pools

Designed around your lot and how you live outside — gunite shell, custom geometry, finishes that hold the Hill Country light.

02

Full-Scale Remodels

A complete rebuild of an aging pool — shell, plumbing, finishes, deck. The job most builders won't touch, done right.

03

Plunge Pools

Compact cold-plunge and small-footprint pools for tight Hill Country lots and courtyard backyards.

04

Pool & Spa Resurfacing

Pebble and quartz re-plaster that brings a dull, chalky interior back to glass — with extra waterproofing built in.

05

Waterline Tile & Coping

New waterline tile and coping replacement — the fastest, highest-impact refresh a pool can get.

06

Cool Deck & Hardscape

Cool-deck resurfacing, travertine, turf, and stone — the surround that makes the whole pool feel finished.

The Build · 7 Steps

From sketch to first swim.

No surprises. No subcontracted mystery. Michael runs the build, Jeb owns the design — and they stay on it from the first phone call to pool school.

01
Design Consultation
Week 1
Jeb comes to you, walks the property, and listens to how you'll actually use the pool — then sketches a first layout on the spot.
Site notes · Rough sketch · Ballpark budget
02
Detailed Estimate & Plan
Weeks 2–3
The most thorough estimate you'll get — options, materials, and supplementary detail spelled out, so you know exactly what you're buying.
3D design · Material specs · Fixed bid
03
Excavation
Dig day
Dig day. The basin is cored to engineered depths — and any limestone shelf or caliche layer gets flagged the same day, never billed as a surprise.
Excavated basin · Site cleanup · Soil report
04
Steel, Plumbing & Electrical
Weeks 5–6
Rebar cage tied to drawings. Suction, return, drain, light niches, and gas roughed in — with extra waterproofing membranes added before any concrete.
Steel inspection · Pressure test · Electrical rough-in
05
Gunite & Shell
Weeks 7–8
Gunite is shot pneumatically into the steel cage and hand-troweled to spec — benches, steps, spa, raised features. The 28-day cure begins.
Cured gunite shell · Benches and steps shaped
06
Decking, Tile & Coping
Weeks 9–11
Waterline tile, coping, and the surrounding deck go in — travertine, turf, or stone. This is when it starts to look exactly like the design.
Tile + coping set · Deck poured or stone laid
07
Plaster, Fill & Pool School
First swim
Pebble plaster troweled in. Water on. We walk you through startup chemistry, the automation, and care — then hand you a finished pool.
Pool filled · Automation set · Pool school

Outdoor Living

The pool is the beginning of the backyard.

Decks, turf, fire, sauna, and stone — we build the whole backyard as a single project, with a single crew, on a single timeline.

Finished Pool Sharp backyard with deck and pool
01 · Decks & Hardscape

Travertine, turf, and hand-set stone.

The deck makes the pool. Travertine for cool-underfoot Hill Country summers, low-maintenance turf inlays, and hand-set stone — laid as one continuous surface around the water.

Pool Sharp project with custom stonework and seating
02 · Fire & Sauna

Fire pits, fire bowls, and sauna retreats.

Gas and wood fire pits built into seating walls, fire bowls on raised plinths, and full sauna retreats off the deep end — the details that make the backyard work after sundown.

03 · Water Features

Spillovers, scuppers, and sheet falls.

Raised spas with sheet-flow spillover, stone-face waterfalls, and deck-level scuppers — engineered into the plumbing, not added on after the fact.

04 · Steps & Coping

Steps, coping, and the lines you live on.

Custom step layouts, tanning ledges, and coping profiles cut to the geometry of your pool — the edges your feet and eyes touch every single day.

Book a design consultation.

We come to you. The visit takes about 90 minutes — Jeb walks the property and sketches a first layout, and you tell us how you actually want to use the backyard. No fee, no pressure, no sales pitch.

From there you get the most detailed estimate in the business, against a real design. If it's a fit, we set a start date. If it isn't, you keep the sketch.
